Oxboro Dental Care is a general and family dental practice serving Bloomington and neighboring communities for nearly 40 years. We have two full-time dentists, Bonnie Wachter Swenby, DDS and Mark W. Bachman, DDS.  We are located at 525 West 98^th Street, Bloomington, MN, in Oxboro Center (near Festival Foods) on 98^th and Lyndale.  The practice has been in its current location since 2000, after spending fourteen years across the street in the Oxboro Medical Building.  Dr. Ralph Swenby started the practice on 90^th and Lyndale in Bloomington in 1964. After retiring from Oxboro Dental Care in January of 2002, he continues to serve the dental needs of our community at Sharing and Caring Hands in Downtown Minneapolis.  In addition to Dr. Bonnie and Dr. Mark, our outstanding hygienists and friendly staff members will help make your visit run smoothly!

Mark W. Bachman, DDS
Dr. Bachman was born and raised in Minneapolis and graduated with honors from Washburn High School. He majored in biology and graduated magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College in Michigan where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Bachman returned to the Twin Cities to complete his dental education and training at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Bachman graduated from dental school in 2000, number three in his class of 79 students, and was inducted into the honor societies of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Kappa Phi. He also was awarded the Raymond J. Gill Award for Outstanding Achievement in Preclinical Fixed Prosthodontics.  Dr. Bachman was proud to represent the University of Minnesota at the American Dental Association annual meeting in Washington, D.C. in 1997 where he presented his research on the development and implementation of a computer program to help teach dental students about dental anatomy. His research was later published in the Journal of Dental Education in August of 1998. Dr. Bachman has also been an instructor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society.  He enjoys augmenting his dental education and training by keeping up on the latest dental literature and journals and by attending numerous continuing education seminars and meetings.  In his spare time, Dr. Bachman enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer and golf, and fishing in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota.

Bonnie Wachter Swenby, DDS
Dr. Swenby grew up in Minneapolis, and graduated with honors from Washburn High School. She attended Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a major degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She raised three sons, one of whom is Dr. Bachman!  After many years as a volunteer teacher of gifted and talented students in the Minneapolis Public Schools and as instructor and president of the Childbirth Education Association of Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, she returned to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she graduated in 1990 as a member of the honor societies Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Kappa Phi. She received the Minnesota Periodontists Association award for excellence in Periodontal Treatment. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society. Dr. Swenby enjoys travel, music, and bicycling in addition to her dental practice.
